At this crucial time in the Venezuelan humanitarian crisis, the Venezuelan military has a moral duty to stand in support of their people’s struggle and allow international aid convoys to enter Venezuela. Rubio is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.
Bogotá, Colombia – El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL), Presidente del Subcomité del Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Mundiales de la Mujer del Comité de Relaciones Exteriores del Senado, viajó hoy a la frontera entre Colombia y Venezuela junto al embajador de los Estados Unidos ante la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) Carlos Trujillo, y el congresista Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL) para conocer de primera mano el programa de ayuda humanitaria que lidera EE.UU. a través de la Agencia de Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID). En un punto crítico de la crisis humanitaria en Venezuela, el ejército venezolano tiene el deber moral de apoyar la lucha de su pueblo contra un usurpador ilegítimo y deben permitir que los convoyes de ayuda internacional ingresen a Venezuela.
