TOMORROW: Rubio Receives ElevatingHome’s 2017 Congressional Champion Award
Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) tomorrow will receive ElevatingHOME’s 2017 Congressional Champion Award for his work to protect Medicare beneficiaries’ access to home health care services by delaying the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Pre-Claim Review Demonstration (PCRD) in Florida.
Today, Rubio joined with Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) and 47 other Senators asking CMS to not finalize a proposal to overhaul Medicare home health payments, which could negatively impact providers and seniors’ ability to utilize home health services. Rubio and Nelson previously led the Florida congressional delegation in opposing the Obama-era PCRD policy after its implementation was met with several problems for beneficiaries and providers in Illinois, and called for a more effective initiative that better targets fraud.
