This week Senator Rubio introduced S.2152, the Syria Democracy Transition Act of 2012. It is a comprehensive bill to hasten the departure of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, offer support for genuinely democratic and inclusive opposition groups, and provide economic incentives to create a prosperous future in a post-Assad Syria.

Senator Rubio co-sponsored S.AMDT.1799 with Senator Maria Cantwell (WA) an amendment to extend the state and local sales tax deduction for one year. The deduction, which expired at the end of 2011, provides tax fairness to residents of eight states without an income tax, including Florida.

Senator Rubio sponsored S.RES.380 which expressed the sense of the Senate regarding the importance of preventing the Government of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.
