Rubio Welcomes President-Elect Trump’s Selection of Elaine Chao for Transportation Secretary

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, issued the following statement today regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s intention to nominate Elaine Chao for Secretary of Transportation:

“I’ve gotten to know Elaine Chao over the past six years, and she has an exemplary record of public service that speaks for itself. The U.S. Department of Transportation oversees Florida’s airports, roads and railways, which support our tourism industry and help move billions of dollars worth of cargo across the state, including from our ports. When she comes before the next Congress, I look forward to asking her questions about these and other important issues affecting the future of U.S. transportation policy.”
