Rubio Visits Willer’s Supermarket in Kissimmee
Kissimmee, FL— U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today joined Kissimmee Commissioner Wanda Rentas to meet with Mariangely Cales, general manager of the Puerto Rico-based Willer’s Supermarket. Rubio toured the chain’s Kissimmee site, which opened last December and employs 38 residents.
“Today at Willer’s Supermarket in Kissimmee, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how the Puerto Rican company and community has persevered in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Willer’s Kissimmee location employs 38 residents, and they plan to add more stores and hire more employees in the coming years,” said Rubio. “After speaking with local Puerto Ricans affected by Hurricane Maria, I reiterated my commitment to push for more federal aid to help our fellow Americans on the island rebuild and recover from the storm. Thank you to Willer’s Supermarket for hosting us today and I look forward to hearing of their continued success generating more Florida jobs and bringing more of the island’s flavors to our neighbors who grew up with them.”

Kissimmee, FL — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) junto a la comisionada de Kissimmee Wanda Rentas, se reunieron con Mariangely Cales, Gerente General de los supermercados Willer’s, que también cuenta con sedes en Puerto Rico. Rubio recorrió la sucursal de Kissimmee, la cual abrió sus puertas en diciembre del año pasado y emplea a 38 residentes locales.
“Hoy, en el Supermercado Willer’s de Kissimmee, tuve la oportunidad de ver en persona cómo la compañía y la comunidad puertorriqueña han perseverado tras el paso del huracán María. La sucursal de Willer’s en Kissimmee actualmente emplea a 38 residentes del área, y proyecta abrir más tiendas y contratar a más empleados en los próximos años”, dijo Rubio. “Después de hablar con los puertorriqueños afectados por el huracán María, reiteré mi compromiso de impulsar más fondos federales para ayudar a nuestros compatriotas en la isla a reconstruir Puerto Rico tras la tormenta. Gracias al Supermercado Willer’s por recibirnos hoy, espero oír de su continuo éxito el cual genera más trabajos en la Florida y trae más de los sabores de la isla del encanto a nuestros vecinos”.
