Rubio Tours Blueberry Farm, Holds Roundtable with Farm Bureau Representatives and Receives Award
Bartow, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) toured Walter Farms’ blueberry farm in Polk County to discuss his efforts to counter the influx of blueberry imports due to unfair trade practices by countries like Mexico. Rubio also held a roundtable with members of the Florida Farm Bureau and the Polk County Farm Bureau to discuss a range of issues including seasonal produce, farm labor issues, and natural resource management. Following the tour and the roundtable, Rubio was awarded the Friend of Florida Farm Bureau Award for his leadership on Florida agricultural issues.
