Rubio Mourns Death Of Blue Angels Pilot

Jun 3, 2016 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding the death of a Blue Angels aviator who was killed in a training exercise on Thursday:

“The Blue Angels represent the very best of our armed forces, and they are a source of tremendous pride for our state and for the community in Pensacola that the Blues call home. No matter where they hail from, every member of the Blue Angels family is considered a part of our Florida family, which is why all Floridians today mourn the loss of one of our own.

“While all of the details are not yet known, it is apparent that the pilot sacrificed himself and prevented additional loss of life by steering his aircraft away from a populated area. This heroic action would be consistent with the pilot’s record of courageous service to our country and the core values all Blue Angels are known for. Jeanette and I send our deepest condolences and offer our prayers to his family, as well as his teammates who are mourning his tragic loss.”
