Rubio: Let’s Defeat The EPA’s Overreach On Water Rule Once And For All
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding a federal appeals court ruling today temporarily stopping the Obama Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rule on the Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS):
“The EPA’s power grab is bad for the country and a brazen overreach, and I’m glad the courts have stopped it for now. We need to end this massive mandate once and for all and put a cap on all regulations so that Washington bureaucrats can be held accountable for the costs they are trying to inflict on our economy.
“This is an important case for our country, but especially for Florida. This rule would lead to an invasion of our state by regulators and bureaucrats trying to impose their will on virtually any place in our state with water. It’s an unnecessary, sweeping mandate that Florida cannot afford.”
