Rubio Congratulates NASA And SpaceX On Successful Falcon 9 Launch
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today issued the following statement congratulating NASA and SpaceX on the successful launch of the Falcon 9 rocket:
“Today’s successful launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is a victory for the Florida Space Coast and yet another exciting sign of what can be achieved through public and private partnership in the field of space exploration. As the Dragon cargo capsule journeys toward the International Space Station, it carries with it remarkable innovations developed by private companies, such as a prototype inflatable room that may soon be occupied by humans in orbit, as well as crucial supplies provided by NASA.
“America must continue to empower our entrepreneurs and innovators to contribute to the development of our space capabilities and Florida must continue to remain America’s spaceport in the years ahead. To achieve both of these goals, I’m proud to have helped author commercial space legislation last year that was signed into law in November. By cutting bureaucratic red tape and protecting the rights of private innovators, this law has already made it easier for the Florida Space Coast and entire American space industry to continue daring and achieving great things.”
