Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement today regarding the results of the presidential election in Haiti:

“I applaud the people of Haiti and their determination to hold free and fair elections despite the devastation of Hurricane Matthew, and congratulate President-elect Jovenel Moïse. The United States must continue to support a democratic, prosperous, and stable Haiti, and help the Haitian people as they recover from this latest natural disaster. Florida is home to a vibrant Haitian community, and I remain committed to being a voice for them in the U.S. Senate.”
