Nov 30, 2018 | Press Releases

Miami, FL – Today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement following the appointment of Brigadier General Wayne Monteith to be the Associate Administrator for the Office of Commercial Space Transportation within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“As we enter this new era of the space age, the FAA’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation requires a forward-leaning leader. During his tenure as the wing commander for the 45th Space Wing at Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Base and Patrick Air Force Base, Brigadier General Monteith championed space innovations, which led to a dramatic increase in rocket launches. I look forward to working with Brig. Gen. Monteith to continue the U.S. ramp up in space launches in order to maintain America’s space dominance.”
