Rubio Celebrates End of CDC’s COVID Travel Requirements

Jun 10, 2022 | Press Releases

Miami, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Americans and other air travelers entering or returning to the United States would no longer have to test negative for COVID-19.

“It’s about time,” Rubio said. “Even Anthony Fauci understood there was no scientific reason for this testing requirement. I am glad this absurdity is over, but we still have serious problems in this country thanks to President Biden’s policies. Costs for everyday goods are skyrocketing. Our borders are not secure. And violent crime is ravaging our communities. The president and the Democrat-led Congress need to do better.”

Last month, Rubio questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci about the travel testing requirement. Fauci could not articulate any public health rationale for requiring a negative COVID-19 test for American citizens and law-abiding visitors entering the U.S. while illegal immigrants can enter the country without any proof of testing, telling Rubio, “I don’t have the answer to that.”
