“I applaud today’s confirmation of Rudy Ruiz to serve as a federal district court judge for the Southern District of Florida. Judge Ruiz has long-served South Florida’s communities in various capacities, and I am confident he will continue to honorably serve as a federal district court judge. Last year, and again this year, Judge Ruiz was voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee without any opposition. It is unfortunate the Senate took this long to confirm him, but today’s vote will further enable Florida’s federal courts to continue to function at the highest level.”
