Rubio Applauds Committee Passage of Anti-Opioid Bill Containing Two Rubio Measures

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) applauded the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee’s passage of the Opioid Crisis Response Act. The legislation contains two Rubio bills related to neonatal abstinence syndrome and allowing hospice providers to dispose of unused opioids.
 
“Among many provisions that addressing the opioid crisis destroying families across our state and nation, the Opioid Crisis Response Act includes language from my bill to ensure we have the necessary tools to care for the most innocent victims of the opioid crisis: newborn babies. I am a proud cosponsor of the Opioid Crisis Response Act and was pleased to see it pass out of committee.”
 
Rubio recently welcomed HHS grants combatting opioid addition. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, he was able to secure funding for fighting the opioid epidemic.
