English/Español: Rubio on PACT Act: “We are finally doing what we should have done two decades ago”
Veterans have been suffering for decades from exposure to toxic burn pits while serving overseas. The Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act of 2021 will streamline the process for veterans to obtain benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The core of the PACT Act includes key provisions from Rubio’s Presumptive Benefits for War Fighters Exposed to Burn Pits and Other Toxins Act (S. 952), which he introduced with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) last year.
- “We are finally doing what we should have done two decades ago. Once President Biden signs this bill into law, our veterans will finally be able to access the care they desperately need and selflessly earned.
- “I look forward to working with the Biden Administration and my colleagues to make sure the bill is implemented fully, and our veterans never again suffer from bureaucratic delays and neglect.” – Senator Rubio
