Jimmy Lai, a Hong Kong democracy activist and founder and CEO of the independent newspaper Apple Daily, was arrested under Hong Kong’s draconian National Security Law (NSL) and convicted of fraud.

The Chinese Communist Party is using bogus fraud charges to smear Mr. Lai’s reputation and justify an additional sham National Security Law (NSL) trial in December.
