PHOTO RELEASE: Senator Rubio Meets With Israeli And Palestinian Officials
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), a member of the Senate’s Select Committee on Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee, concluded his final day of meetings today as part of an official visit to the Middle East. Today’s meetings included visits with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Israeli military intelligence Major General Aviv Kochavi and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. Rubio also visited and attended Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
“During this official trip, it’s been an honor being a guest of the Jordanian, Israeli and Palestinian people and their governments,” said Rubio. “This has been an invaluable trip for me to gain important insights and firsthand accounts about the pressing security and economic issues facing this region, from the very people responsible for protecting their people and achieving lasting peace. I look forward to returning home to continue working to improve America’s foreign policy in the Middle East, and especially towards further solidifying the unbreakable bond between the U.S. and Israel.”
