PHOTO RELEASE: Rubio Concludes Official Week-Long Visit To Asia

Jan 25, 2014 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee and a member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, today concluded his official visit to Asia, which included stops in Japan, the Philippines and South Korea.

On Rubio’s last day in South Korea, he met with President Park Geun-hye, among other governmental officials, to discuss economic and security concerns in the region. Rubio also visited LG Display, the world’s largest LCD panel maker.

“My experiences touring Japan, the Philippines and South Korea have left a lasting impression, and I’d like to thank the people and governments of these countries for graciously hosting me,” Rubio said. “The opportunity to visit our embassies and service men and women was a reminder of their selfless commitment that nurtures and protects America’s relationships with allies around the world.

“A strong, constructive alliance with Asia is critical to promoting economic prosperity, liberty and freedom worldwide, so that one day, democracy and free enterprise will eclipse the oppression and injustices that plague this world,” Rubio added. “This shared priority is vital to both the economic growth and security of America, and the future of humanity as a whole.”

In addition to Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays activities, Rubio gave a speech on U.S. policy toward Asia and appeared on CNBC Asia. Below are photos from Rubio’s final day in South Korea (the pictures can be viewed in higher quality here):
