NOW: Rubio Speaks on Senate Floor to Outline How Middle East Bill Helps Israel Address Security Needs

Jan 9, 2019 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – At approximately 5:25 p.m. today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will deliver remarks on the Senate floor to outline how his bill, the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 (S.1), would help Israel meet its security needs and bolster the U.S.-Israel alliance.

On the Senate floor yesterday, Rubio addressed the horrifying atrocities that have been committed in the region and urged his Democratic colleagues to support S.1. Specifically Rubio stated: “I sadly will have to come to the floor and point out the horrifying atrocities that have been committed that I believe 50 and a hundred years from now people will look back at as one of the most horrifying things that have happened in this century. And the people who have done this should be held to account.”

Rubio’s remarks will be broadcast on C-SPAN 2 and the U.S. Senate’s official website.
