NOW: Rubio Speaks on Senate Floor to Address the Need to Support Venezuela’s Transitional Government
Washington, D.C. – At approximately 6:10 p.m. today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will deliver remarks on the Senate floor outlining the need to support Venezuela’s transitional government. Following dictator Nicolas Maduro’s unlawful swearing-in ceremony on January 10, 2019, the United States and other nations declared Maduro claims to Venezuela’s presidency as illegitimate.
In his floor speech, Rubio will highlight the need to recognize the democratically elected National Assembly as Venezuela’s only legitimate institution and to support Juan Guaidó as Provisional President of the Transitional Government of Venezuela.
Rubio’s remarks will be broadcast on C-SPAN 2 and the U.S. Senate’s official website.
