MEDIA ADVISORY: Rubio To Mark Anniversary Of Venezuela Protests In Senate Floor Speech

Washington, D.C. – At approximately 4:00pm ET today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will speak on the Senate floor to mark the February 12 anniversary of the violent repression of peaceful demonstrators in Venezuela, and call on President Obama to fully implement the provisions in the Venezuela Defense of Human Rights and Civil Society Act of 2014.

Rubio sponsored the bill, which was signed into law on December 18 and mandates asset freezes and visa restrictions on individuals involved in human rights violations under the Maduro regime.
