Marco Rubio’s Message on the Second Anniversary of the Haiti Earthquake

Jan 12, 2012 | Blog

“Two years have passed since the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, and the aftermath of this tragic event is still being felt to this day. Today, we remember the estimated 230,000 Haitians who lost their lives and the 300,000 more injured as a result of the earthquake.

“The response to the earthquake by both the United States and the international community was a strong one. The past two years have continued to prove difficult for the country of Haiti, but the community’s strength and determination to rebuild is a testament to the human spirit. I am committed to working with my Senate colleagues to continue the process of rebuilding Haiti on a strong and solid foundation.”
