ICYMI: VIDEO: Rubio Pushes Relief Measures for Citrus Growers Affected by Citrus Greening
Immokalee, FL – During a visit with the Gulf Citrus Growers Association on Friday, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) reiterated the importance of research funds aimed at mitigating and eradicating the citrus greening crisis plaguing Florida’s groves, and improving the tax code to help alleviate the burden of replanting on growers.
Earlier this month, Rubio and U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) reintroduced the Emergency Citrus Disease Response Act.

Senator Rubio: “So our goal is to do two things: number one is to make sure the funds are available for research, to be able to mitigate and hopefully one day cure this pestilence. And the second thing is to make it easier for those who are in citrus who lose their crops to be able to re-invest and plant again.”
