Rubio: “Well, as I said at the outset of the show, you can’t solve generational issues, and that’s what this debt is, unless the President of the United States is willing to engage on it, and he has to engage on it. I can tell you, as a Senator he talked about these issues, as a candidate he said he would talk about these issues, but as President, I think he’s got his eye on 2012 more than he does on the debt. And what I fear is that the President and too many other people in Washington are more interested in winning their next election, even if it means losing the essence of our country.”

We are at this point at our history in this debate because the Democrats that controlled Congress just a year ago, both houses and the White House, didn’t even pass a budget.
