ICYMI: Rubio Joins The Ingraham Angle
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) joined The Ingraham Angle to discuss the ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden. See below for highlights and watch the full interview on YouTube and Rumble.
On the ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s business deals:
“We need to follow those roads wherever they take us. And if, in fact, it can be proven or at least shown that any of those business dealings and returns are now influencing policy, we would want to know about that. Everybody deserves to know about it. I think that would be criminal if that were the case.
“What’s pretty clear is Hunter Biden made a lot of money for a guy that has no qualifications. Just common sense tells you you don’t pay people the amount of money he made for a guy that’s completely unqualified. And the way the money was distributed, through a series of Byzantine shell companies under the name of, in some cases, kids that were barely adults or minors: if there were an R next to the Biden name, this would be the number one story in America.
“Instead, they’ve tried as long as they could, probably up until today, to keep all this under the rug and not focus on it. It’s going to be hard after today for the media not to focus on it, because now there was a court hearing, now there was a judge, now there was a plea deal that was rejected because of outrage, and now there was mention of other ancillary investigations alongside this one.”
On the leverage Hunter Biden’s deals could give foreign actors:
“If you’ve paid Hunter Biden all this money, whether you’re a Chinese company or a Ukrainian company, this is compromising information.… That’s a tremendous amount of leverage to have over a political figure. That’s why things like this have to be revealed.”
On Speaker McCarthy’s statements on a potential impeachment inquiry:
“I’m not an impeachment person. I don’t want [the U.S.] to turn into Peru. [Peru has] now impeached their last seven presidents. [They] have counter-impeachments all the time.
“If you listen very carefully, what the Speaker of the House has said is that impeachment proceedings, at this point, are the only process [members of the House] have, on the evidentiary front, to go out and subpoena records and get documents and information that otherwise is not forthcoming and isn’t being provided, because [the Bidens] are ignoring congressional subpoenas from the committee level. That’s what McCarthy has said. We’ll see what that uncovers.
“The process exists for a reason, but I don’t think [McCarthy’s] saying we’re going to definitely impeach him. I think he’s saying we’re going to have an impeachment process to generate evidence that we can’t get right now, because they’re stonewalling us across government agencies, and [because] Hunter Biden and other private parties are refusing to provide information that could provide more insight into all of this.”
