Happy Thanksgiving from Senator Marco Rubio
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6D6wR_0Kuf8&feature=youtu.be
Transcript: “Hi, I’m Marco Rubio, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve you in the United States Senate.
“You know, Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday that tracks its history back to the very early beginnings of settlements of our continent. It’s based on the notion that we are thankful to our creator, God, for all the blessings that we have. And there are no people in the world that should be more grateful than the American people. What we have had over the last 200 years is unparalleled in human history — that generation after generation of Americans has been able to leave the next better off.
“We’re thankful for the blessings of our country, but we’re also cognoscente of the responsibilities that come with those blessings. One of those responsibilities is that we owe to future generations to ensure that they have all the great things that we’ve had in our lifetime and even more so. Security, greater peace and prosperity.
“So on this Thanksgiving holiday, let’s take a moment to reflect and remember how special a country we share. How exceptional it is in human history, and how important it is we secure it for the next generation of Americans.
“So from my family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.”
