Following Jeff Miller’s Announcement He Won’t Seek Re-Election, Rubio Thanks Him For His Service
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement today following the announcement that U.S. Representative Jeff Miller (FL-01), who is the chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, has chosen not to seek re-election:
“Words cannot fully express how much gratitude and respect I have for Jeff Miller and his service to this country and the people of Florida. In 2009, Jeff was one of the very first people in Florida who supported my campaign for Senate and believed in me when very few thought I had a chance, and I will always be grateful to him for that.
“It has been an honor working with Jeff on VA reform, where he has time and time again proven his commitment to our nation’s veterans. In Florida’s Panhandle, our military servicemen and women have had a strong champion in Jeff, both for the resources they need to be prepared on the battlefield, but also for the families who remain at home while they serve in harm’s way.
“I wish Jeff and his family continued success in his future endeavors and thank him for his extraordinary service to Florida and our nation.”
