President Joe Biden named Markenzy Lapointe to be U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and Roger Handberg to be U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. 
 
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) signaled his support for Lapointe in February 2021. Both Lapointe and Handberg were recommended by Rubio’s bipartisan judicial advisory commission.

  • “The president made the right decision by naming Markenzy Lapointe and Roger Handberg to these important positions. They have served their communities and country with distinction, and I expect both will respect the Constitution and uphold the rule of law without fear or favor.” – Senator Rubio 

The nominees must now be approved by the U.S. Senate.

El presidente Joe Biden nombró a Markenzy Lapointe como fiscal federal para el Distrito Sur de Florida y a Roger Handberg como fiscal federal para el Distrito Central de Florida. 
 
El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) señaló su apoyo a Lapointe en febrero del 2021. Tanto Lapointe como Hanberg fueron recomendados por la comisión asesora judicial bipartidista de Rubio.
