Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released the following statement after yesterday’s presidential election in Colombia:
“I applaud the recent election of Iván Duque as the new president of Colombia, and Marta Lucía Ramírez as the first female Vice President in Colombia’s history. Colombia is a great regional ally to the United States, and I look forward to working with the president-elect and his cabinet to strengthen our bilateral relations. We will continue our important work together in the fight against drug trafficking and for the restoration of democratic order in Venezuela.”
