A Welcome Message From Senator Marco Rubio
Hi, I’m Marco Rubio, and I’m proud to be your senator from the state of Florida. Thanks for visiting our website, as we introduce some of its features that will allow us to do a better job for you here in Washington, D.C. and across the state of Florida.
There are three features of the website that I want to talk about. The first is our Action Center. It’s a place that allows you to interact with us on constituent service. What that means is, if you have some need of a government agency, Veterans Affairs, the IRS, the Social Security Administration, Medicare—whatever your federal issue may be, we’re going to be able to help you by using this website.
The second is, maybe you’re planning a trip to Washington, D.C., with a school group or your family. We want to be able to organize tours and events for you while you’re here. You can do that on our website.
And the last feature, and perhaps the most important, is the one we call “Putting Florida First.” It’s a place where you can keep track of our daily activities here in Washington, D.C., on your behalf, and in particular, it connects you to our social websites, Facebook and Twitter, for up-to-the-minute updates on what we’re working on and what the issues are.
You can also sign up to receive a weekly update by email. It’s our newsletter that tells you what we’re working on, what we’ve done and what we plan to do in the days and weeks to come.
This website is an important tool that we have at our disposal to communicate with you in real time, to make sure that the things I’m focused on and working on here in Washington, D.C., are the things you want me focused on, are the things you want me working on.
I’m honored and privileged to be your United States Senator, and I hope you’ll make frequent use of this website so that we can work together for our country, our state and our future. Thank you very much.
