Washington, D.C. – In today’s installment of Marco’s Constituent Mailbox video series, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio responds to two constituents regarding the looming fiscal cliff and the September 11 terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The first letter came from Lee, a Florida constituent living in Gainesville. Lee was frustrated with the lack of solutions for the country’s out-of control debt, and was interested in hearing Rubio’s plan for stimulating the economy and fostering economic growth.
The second letter came from Rudy, an Orlando constituent. Rudy is concerned with the inconsistencies surrounding the September 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.
Constituent Casework Corner
Each week, Rubio’s staff also assists Floridians with a wide range of federal issues, both in our state offices and on the road through our staff-run “Mobile Office Hours.”
This week, Rubio’s staff assisted Charles, a resident of Central Florida and a member of the armed services who was scheduled to deploy overseas. Charles contacted Rubio’s office because his fiancée resides in Germany, and he wants her to come to the U.S. so they could get married before he deploys. A member of Rubio’s staff reached out to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office which accepted the request to expedite Charles’ petition for his fiancée’s visa. The office approved Charles’ petition and forwarded it to the consulate, where they issued his fiancée’s visa prior to his deployment.
