Feb 26, 2018 | Comunicados de Prensa

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, at approximately 12:10 pm EST, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will deliver remarks at the unveiling of Boris Nemtsov Plaza. After Rubio’s legislation stalled in Congress, the City Council of Washington, D.C. voted to designate the street in front of the Russian Embassy in honor of the slain Russian opposition leader.

In February 2017, Rubio introduced legislation in the Senate to rename the street and worked closely with D.C. City Council members on the initiative. A timeline of Rubio’s efforts on Boris Nemtsov Plaza can be found below.

Rubio’s remarks will be livestreamed here.
