TOMORROW: Rubio Delivers Remarks at Annual Washington Conference on the Americas
Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, at approximately 6:00 pm EDT, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will deliver remarks at the 48th Annual Washington Conference on the Americas, co-hosted by the U.S. Department of State and the Council of the Americas, at the U.S. Department of State. The event brings together U.S. officials and leaders from across the region to focus on major policy issues affecting the Western Hemisphere.
Rubio, who serves as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, recently traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, and the Bahamas to meet with government officials and U.S. diplomats to discuss the ongoing crisis in Venezuela.
In April, Rubio outlined actions the United States and its partners should take to hasten the emergence of a post-Maduro Venezuela and restore democracy to the country. Rubio also travelled to the Summit of the Americas, where he spoke with regional leaders about the Venezuelan crisis, and met with Venezuelan opposition leaders.

Washington, DC – Mañana, aproximadamente a las 6:00 p.m. EDT, el Senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) pronunciará un discurso en la 48ª Conferencia Anual de las Américas en Washington D.C., coorganizada por el Departamento de Estado de EE. UU. Y por el Consejo de la Américas, en el Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos. El evento reúne a funcionarios de los Estados Unidos y líderes de toda la región para centrarse en los problemas de política que afectan al Hemisferio Occidental.
Rubio, quien se desempeña como presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores del Hemisferio Occidental, viajó recientemente a Costa Rica, Panamá y las Bahamas para reunirse con funcionarios del gobierno y diplomáticos estadounidenses para analizar la crisis actual en Venezuela.
En abril, Rubio detallo las acciones que los Estados Unidos y sus aliados deberían emprender para acelerar el surgimiento de una Venezuela post-Maduro y restaurar la democracia en el país. Rubio también viajó a la Cumbre de las Américas, donde habló con los líderes regionales sobre la crisis venezolana y se reunió con los líderes de la oposición de Venezuela.
