Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chris Coons (D-DE), Jeanne Shaheen, (D-NH), and Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced a resolution condemning the activities of Russian national Yevgeniy Prigozhin and the Wagner Group, a Russian private military contractor. The resolution calls for broad cooperation between Congress and the Biden administration to formulate a strategy to counter the malign activities of these Russian proxies.
Prigozhin, the Wagner Group, and several other entities closely linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government continue to pose a threat to the national interests and security of the United States. Their subversive activities continue unabated in multiple countries, including the Central African Republic, Libya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Sudan, and others.
