Housing affordability is at a 40-year low, but the Biden Administration’s new home energy standards would add tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of a new home.
The pending regulations would impose strict new energy standards on new homes that are financed with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs, including Federal Housing Administration-insured mortgages.
