Senate Passes Rubio’s Taiwan Travel Act
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released the following statement applauding Senate passage of his Taiwan Travel Act bill:
“Taiwan is a fellow democracy and important partner in the Indo-Pacific region, so I am proud that Congress has now passed the Taiwan Travel Act and is sending it to the president’s desk. I first introduced this legislation in 2016 to encourage high-level visits between American officials and their Taiwanese counterparts. It is critical for the United States to strengthen our ties with Taiwan, especially as China increases efforts to isolate Taiwan and block its participation in international organizations.”
