Rubio Welcomes Report SEC is Investigating Global Ministries Foundation

Aug 11, 2016 | Press Releases

Miami, FL – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released the following statement today regarding reports that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is also investigating Global Ministries Foundation, which the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Inspector General served with search warrants last week:

“Global Ministries Foundation must be held accountable for stealing millions in taxpayer dollars and forcing Florida families to live in deplorable conditions. I’m glad to see federal authorities are taking more action. My office received an update from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today, and I will continue to follow these issues closely. Endangering the health and safety of these residents is unacceptable, and they deserve better than the slumlords of GMF.”

Global Ministries Foundation owns public housing properties across the country, including several in Florida: Eureka Garden in Jacksonville, Windsor Cove in Orlando, and Stonybrook Apartments in Riviera Beach.
