Rubio Welcomes Drug Free Community Grants for Florida
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) welcomed the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s (ONDCP) announcement that communities in Florida will receive a total of $1,875,000 to prevent youth substance abuse through its Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program. The DFC Support Program provides grants to community coalitions to strengthen the infrastructure among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance use.
“Ensuring that Florida is a safe and drug-free place to raise a family has long been a priority of mine,” Rubio said. “I am grateful that the Administration is investing in substance use prevention, and I remain committed to working toward solutions that will lead to better outcomes and brighter futures for our children and communities.”
Below is a list of the grant recipients and amounts:
- The Martin County Drug Free Youth Coalition: $125,000
- The Baker Prevention Coalition: $ 625,000
- The Drug Free Punta Gorda Coalition: $125,000
- The Safe and Healthy Duval Coalition, Inc dba Drug Free Duval: $125,000
- The Urban Partnership of Miami-Dade County Coalition: $125,000
- The Drug Free Sarasota Coalition: $125,000
- The Brevard Prevention Coalition: $625,000
