Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) y Jim Risch (R-ID) junto a los congresistas Michael McCaul (R-TX) y Mark Green (R-TN) emitieron el siguiente comunicado sobre la decisión de la Asamblea Nacional de El Salvador de destituir a cinco jueces de la Corte Suprema y al Fiscal General:
“Estamos profundamente preocupados por el proceso mediante el cual la Asamblea Nacional salvadoreña ha reemplazado al Fiscal General y a los miembros de la Corte Suprema de El Salvador. Las acciones que socavan la independencia del poder judicial tienen un impacto negativo en nuestro largo historial para mejorar la transparencia, la seguridad y las condiciones económicas en esa nación. La administración Biden debe comprometerse con todos los actores políticos en El Salvador para tener un diálogo productivo que fortalezca las instituciones democráticas y la gobernabilidad transparente de ese país”.
