Rubio Reintroduce Legislación Sobre Cigarros Premium
Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) re-introdujo la Ley de Preservación de Empleos en la Fabricación de Cigarros Tradicionales y Pequeñas Empresas la cual busca eximir a los cigarros premium de las regulaciones y tarifas excesivamente onerosas por parte de la Administración de Drogas y Alimentos de EE.UU. (FDA, por sus siglas en inglés). Rubio presentó esta legislación por primera vez en el 2011 junto al ex-senador Bill Nelson.
Junto a Rubio, se unieron los senadores Tom Cotton (R-AR), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Rick Scott (R-FL), John Barrasso (R-WY), Jim Inhofe (R-OK) , Lindsey Graham (R-SC), John Boozman (R-AR) y John Kennedy (R-LA) como co-patrocinadores de la legislación.
“La industria de los puros es un elemento icónico en la economía de la Florida”, Rubio dijo. “Por demasiado tiempo, las pequeñas empresas y negocios familiares se han enfrentado a la amenaza de una regulación que podría obligar a muchos a cerrar sus puertas. Me enorgullece el volver a presentar esta legislación que brindaría a los fabricantes de puros premium de la Florida la certeza que necesitan para continuar con su oficio, e insto a mis colegas a que aprueben rápidamente este proyecto de ley”.
