Rubio Names Tide Car Wash the Senate Small Business of the Week
Washington, D.C. — This week, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, named Rising Tide Car Wash of Parkland and Margate, Florida as the U.S. Senate Small Business of the Week.
“As Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, it is my pleasure to honor Rising Tide Car Wash of Parkland and Margate, Florida as the Senate Small Business of the Week. Founded in November 2012 by John and Tom D’Eri, a father-son duo overseeing both locations, Rising Tide is a full-service car wash with the mission of employing adults with autism. In fact, employees with autism make up more than 90 percent of their workforce – making Rising Tide one of the largest employers of individuals with autism in the United States. Rising Tide’s incredible commitment to the autistic community has not gone unnoticed. In 2014, they were awarded Employer of the Year by the Autism Society, and Small Business of the Year by South Florida Business Connection. Tom and John also created Rising Tide U, an educational platform that provides a roadmap for other entrepreneurs on how to build an autism social enterprise. Rising Tide Car Wash is an outstanding example of how small businesses can fill local business needs while providing dignified work to those in their community. I am proud to honor Rising Tide Car Wash as the Senate Small Business of the Week.”
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Senator Rubio continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to the Small Business Administration and investigates all problems relating to America’s small businesses.
