Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) envió una carta a la secretaria del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de EE. UU. (HUD, por sus siglas en inglés), Marcia Fudge, sobre las condiciones inseguras e insalubres en varias propiedades en todo el estado de la Florida administradas por Cambridge Management, Inc. bajo el programa de asistencia de alquiler basado en proyectos de la Sección 8 (PBRA, por sus siglas en inglés). Desde mayo del 2021 Rubio ha resaltado la mala gestión de Cambridge Management en propiedades de HUD. Esta carta de Rubio surge tras informes por parte de los Floridanos sobre las deplorables condiciones en los apartamentos Silver Oaks de Tampa, administrados por Cambridge.
“Ningún Floridano debería estar sujeto a este tipo de condiciones, y mucho menos en propiedades subsidiadas por los dólares de los contribuyentes”, Rubio escribió. “Instó al Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de EE. UU. (HUD, por sus siglas en inglés) a que vuelva a inspeccionar los apartamentos Silver Oaks y tome medidas para responsabilizar a Cambridge Management así como garantizar que los residentes cuentan con condiciones sanitarias y seguras”.
