Rubio Condemns the UN Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner for Advancing Anti-Israel Efforts
Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a statement after the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner published an anti-Israel report on companies operating in Israel or Israeli-controlled territories.
“The United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner has published a harmful report targeting American and other international companies that are legally operating in Israel and Israeli-controlled territories. This cynical report seeks to delegitimize and isolate Israel, a fellow democracy and our closest ally in the Middle East, while also encouraging the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement’s discriminatory efforts to financially and commercially attack the Jewish State.
“As proud author of the Combating BDS Act and a cosponsor of the Israel Anti-boycott Act, I call on Congress to pass these bills to counter continuing displays of anti-Israel bias at the United Nations. I am committed to protecting American companies that are operating in full compliance with U.S. laws, and to defeating all forms of economic warfare against the Jewish State.”
