Rubio Comments On Federal Raid Of Slumlords At Global Ministries Foundation
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today commented on the announcement by the U.S. Department of Justice that it is executing search warrants across the country as part of an investigation into Global Ministries Foundation.
Global Ministries Foundation owns several properties in Florida, including Eureka Garden in Jacksonville, Windsor Cove in Orlando, and Stonybrook Apartments in Riviera Beach.
”It’s about time that federal investigators go after the slumlords at Global Ministries Foundation for stealing millions in taxpayer dollars and forcing residents across the country, including three Florida properties, to live in deplorable public housing conditions,” said Rubio. “This investigation that I called for is just getting started, but I am confident these slumlords will be held accountable for stealing money and endangering the public health and safety of families.”
Background On Rubio’s Efforts To Hold Global Ministries Foundation Accountable:
- In May, Rubio urged the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to open an investigation into Global Ministries Foundation.
- The Senate recently passed legislation that included three Rubio amendments to improve the U.S. Department of Urban Development’s oversight of public housing projects.
