Rubio Commends Trump, DeSantis Administrations’ Efforts To Help Communities Devastated By Hurricane Michael
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today issued the following statement commending the Trump Administration’s approval of Governor Ron DeSantis’ request for 45 days of 100 percent Federal cost share for debris removal and emergency protective measures conducted in Florida communities devastated by Hurricane Michael. Currently, affected communities were receiving assistance for these measures at 75 percent federal funding.
“I commend President Trump’s Administration for quickly approving Governor DeSantis’ efforts to further aid Florida communities devastated by Hurricane Michael,” said Rubio. “The massive amounts of debris created by the storm continue to impede recovery efforts for many local communities and their economies. Today’s decision will help those communities devastated by the storm continue on the road to full recovery.”
