Jul 8, 2018 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released the following statement today after the U.S. Army Corps delayed tomorrow’s scheduled discharges from Lake Okeechobee to the St. Lucie River:

“After speaking with the Administration earlier today, I’m thankful that the Army Corps has listened to our concerns for communities downstream and announced it will delay tomorrow’s scheduled discharges. Earlier today, Rubio urged President Trump to order the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to conduct an emergency re-evaluation of the Lake Okeechobee discharges.
