Rubio Commemorates Blue Angels on Final Show of 70th Anniversary Season
Miami, FL – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement today commemorating the final show of the 70th anniversary season of the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels:
“This weekend marks the final show of the 70th anniversary season of the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels proudly flying over America’s skies. Any time we hear the roar of the Blues’ engines, we are reminded of all the brave men and women who serve to protect America. The Blue Angels are a source of tremendous pride for Pensacola residents, who have claimed the group as part of their family and community. The Blues’ air shows are incredible to experience, and the pilots’ talent and skill brings excitement and joy to every spectator.
“Unfortunately, this has been a difficult year for the Blues, who lost Captain Jeff Kuss in an accident a few months ago. But the Blues’ return to the sky was a testament to their resilience, sense of duty and love of country. The memory of Captain Kuss and all who have donned the Blues’ uniforms over the past 70 years lives on.
“We are honored the Blue Angels call Florida home. May they have a beautiful and successful air show this weekend to commemorate 70 years of tradition and service to Pensacola, our state and our nation.”
