U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the anniversary of the fraudulent 2020 presidential election of Alexander Lukashenko for a sixth term in Belarus.

The resolution also commemorates the historic peaceful protests that followed the election, and the continued heroic efforts of the Belarusian people.
Lukashenko has ruled as an authoritarian strongman since the first presidential election in Belarus in 1994.
Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Chris Coons (D-DE), Ed Markey (D-MA), and Ben Cardin (D-MD) are original cosponsors.
