Rubio Applauds New Sanctions Against Members of Maduro’s Inner Circle
Washington, D.C.– U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a statement today after the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions against Venezuelan First Lady Cilia Flores de Maduro, Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, Jorge Rodriguez Gomez, Vladimir Padrino Lopez and a network of front men supporting the Maduro regime’s illegitimate National Constituent Assembly, Diosdado Cabello Rondon:
“As Nicolás Maduro and his cronies enrich themselves, they are committing crimes against humanity, including systematically starving the Venezuelan people to politically control them. I applaud the Trump administration’s decision to expand sanctions against the Maduro regime, and I believe we must do much more. The United States and its regional allies must increase joint efforts to help the Venezuelan people enter a post-Maduro era.”

Washington, D.C.– El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió hoy un comunicado después de que la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC) del Departamento del Tesoro de los Estados Unidos impusiera sanciones contra la primera dama venezolana Cilia Flores de Maduro, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, Jorge Rodríguez Gómez, Vladimir Padrino López y una red de hombres que apoyan al líder de la ilegítima Asamblea Nacional Constituyente de Maduro, Diosdado Cabello Rondón:
“A medida que Nicolás Maduro y sus secuaces se enriquecen, están cometiendo crímenes de lesa humanidad, incluyendo el hambre forzada contra el pueblo venezolano para controlarlos políticamente. Aplaudo la decisión de la administración Trump de ampliar las sanciones contra el régimen de Maduro, y creo que debemos hacer mucho más. Los Estados Unidos y sus aliados regionales deben aumentar los esfuerzos en conjunto para ayudar al pueblo venezolano a entrar en una era post-Maduro”.
