El 31 de julio del 2022, un grupo con vínculos al régimen comunista de Cuba participó en actividades políticas en Coral Gables, Florida. El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) envió una carta al director de la Oficina Federal de Investigaciones (FBI, por sus siglas en inglés), Christopher Wray, instándolo a investigar de inmediato las actividades de Puentes de Amor y sus miembros, que actúan como agentes extranjeros no registrados de la dictadura cubana en violación de la Ley de Registro de Agentes Extranjeros (FARA, por sus siglas en inglés).
“Puentes de Amor realizó una manifestación en Coral Gables, Florida, como parte de un esfuerzo coordinado del régimen cubano para sembrar división, incitar al conflicto e influir en la política exterior de Estados Unidos. El grupo también alzó banderas del movimiento 26 de julio de Castro, abiertamente en apoyo a la revolución cubana que condujo a la dictadura comunista que sigue vigente en la isla hoy”.
